Montpelier Lantern Parade
If you're looking for something fabulous to do tonight, come on down to downtown Montpelier’s Lantern Parade!
Seven of our city's bridges have been illuminated since 2023 as part of Montpelier’s Bridge Illumination Project. The lights symbolize both connection and resilience and bring light to our rivers and downtown. Tonight, three more bridges will be lit up, which will complete the project. There will also be a tunnel of light on the Shaw’s Pedestrian Bridge.
And of course, there are the lanterns. T.W. Wood Gallery has hosted workshops where people have created masterpieces making their debut during the parade. If you already have a lantern, bring it along! All glowing things are welcome.
